One thing is certain: no young man leaves Westview without an appreciation of the need for, and the value of, work. Our residents learn that work is important to keep a household running as it should. They also come to understand that work is necessary to obtain the things in life that you and your family need or desire.
The young men of Westview Boys’ Home have the opportunity to earn money for spending, and to save for a vehicle or college. They can either work on campus or find a job in town. Monies they earn are divided: half go into their spending account, and one half goes into savings accounts that they receive when they successfully leave the Home. This program teaches them the value of a good work ethic and the importance of handling their money carefully.

The lasting learning starts when the work begins. These young men have to get up for work, fix their breakfast, and show up on time. Feeling a little tired? You can sleep in on Saturday. Wake up with an attitude? You can fix it on the job or fix it at the house on a day without pay. In this work world, actions have real and immediate consequences.
