Many hands make light work

The core of phase one—purchase of the land and construction of four homes—was budgeted at $1,627,000. That portion of the work is fully funded. The Westview Boys’ Home board of directors set aside $400,000 from a gift from an estate to move forward with the project. A donor wishing to remain anonymous generously awarded Westview a $1,227,000 grant to fund the remainder. There are still opportunities for other donors to be involved. Westview is currently seeking funding for the following project items:

  • “Meeting Place” for Launch: investment in the construction, equipping, and furnishing of a neighborhood meeting place in our Weatherford neighborhood, built in a style similar to our homes ‐ $200,000. We have received a grant for the first $100,000 of this structure.
  • Operating Funds – We have a matching grant for $92,060 to provide resources for the beginning of the work. We have $79,000 of gifts for matching funds; we are seeking the remainder to cover personnel and energy expenses as we develop local funding for the work.

To help in these or other ways, please contact John Moore, director of development, or Ron Bruner, executive director at 580-688-9281.
