Helping build resilience and life skills in young lives

Resources: A range of resources, including:

  • An independent living experience for young men (18 – 24 years of age)
  • Teaching the Going Places curriculum, developed at the Presbyterian Children’s Home of Amarillo, which addresses life skills
  • Career assessment and counseling
  • Therapeutic counseling with residents
  • Life coaching with residents

Transitional Mentors

  • Mature, Christian adults
  • Experience in relationship development

Licensure and/or Certifications of Professionals:

  • Licensed Social Worker (LMSW), or
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • TBRI Educator or Practitioner

Theoretical Approach:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Application of TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®)
  • Attention to trauma, ambiguous loss, and resilience
  • Help residents move forward with Ansell-Casey life skills
