10 Dec Running in the Gobbler Gallop
The young men at Westview Boys’ Home are blessed with many friends! Not only are they generous souls, but they also find unique ways to provide for the needs of young men from hard places.
Christina Gable, her family, and their friends have helped nonprofits for years with their annual Gobbler Gallop. This year they asked Westview Boys’ Home to sanction a run on behalf of the young men at Westview and we were glad to agree. The run was a 5K in Granite, Oklahoma, that took place on Saturday, November 23, 2019.
Sixty runners (and walkers) paid to register for the event, and numerous corporate and individual sponsors helped cover the costs of t-shirts and awards. Prizes were awarded for the first in men’s, women’s, children’s, and veterans’ categories.
The hard work of volunteers raised nearly $5,000 for our young men and we are grateful! If you have questions about how you might help the young men at Westview Boys’ Home, please contact John Moore at (580) 688-9281.
