Westview Boys’ Home Welcomes Terry Owens as Executive Director

Westview Boys’ Home is proud to announce Terry Owens as its new Executive Director, succeeding Dr. Ron Bruner, who will retire in February 2025. Terry’s appointment represents a seamless and well-considered leadership transition, reinforcing Westview’s commitment to delivering exceptional care and guidance to young men in need of support and mentorship during their time in care. Having been an integral part of Westview for nearly two decades, Terry brings unparalleled experience, dedication, and vision to this role.

Since joining Westview in 2007, Terry has consistently exemplified commitment and excellence in every position he has held. He began his journey as a caregiver and mentor in the independent living program, helping young men build sustainable futures through guidance and support. In 2010, he stepped into the role of Director of Operations, overseeing campus caregivers and managing day-to-day operations. During his tenure, Westview experienced a remarkable transformation, highlighted by the complete renovation of all six residences between 2018 and 2019. These upgrades were thoughtfully designed to ensure the facilities meet the needs of future generations.

Terry’s leadership is rooted in his extensive expertise in nonprofit management and child welfare, complemented by his certification as both a practitioner and trainer in Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®). This trauma-informed care framework has been pivotal in shaping Westview’s approach to supporting young men, empowering them to overcome challenges and thrive. Beyond his work at Westview, Terry has become a sought-after advocate for TBRI®, sharing his knowledge across Oklahoma by training caregivers and agencies in this transformative method of care.

Terry’s impact reaches far beyond the Westview campus. As a board member of OKCare and a representative on a state advisory board, he has championed policies that enhance the lives of children and families. His efforts have created a lasting ripple effect—reuniting families, empowering young men, and inspiring countless caregivers along the way.

As Terry assumes the role of Executive Director, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to Westview’s mission and operations. His leadership—rooted in compassion, integrity, and a vision for innovation—promises to guide the organization toward continued growth and success.

The Westview community would also like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Ron Bruner, whose outstanding leadership has left an enduring impact on the organization’s journey. With Terry at the helm, Westview Boys’ Home is poised to build on its rich legacy, faithfully serving God and transforming the lives of the young men entrusted to its care. We eagerly anticipate this new chapter under his capable and inspiring leadership.
