09 Nov A “Thank You” for our friends

On November 16, 2024 there will be a Gala Appreciation Event for friends and donors of Westview Boys Home and Westview Launch. Our guest speaker and pianist is Gordon Bauer. Gordon is a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University and started his financial planning career in Oklahoma before moving back to Colorado where he lives with his wife and four children.

The evening’s entertainment is truly unique within the musical performance world: Gordon will explain to the evening’s audience right off that he utilizes his backgrounds in ministry/public speaking and early childhood concert piano training to provide a musical experience titled Music and Message. Before each piece is performed, he provides a message about the back story of the piece and musical highlights to look for. He says about this approach “Take your pick –the message illustrates and explains the music, or the music illustrates and compliments the message. My musical selections at my Music and Message concerts are hopeful –and in two instances prayer-like. Some one-word descriptions that could be used for the various pieces –that include works by Chopin and Beethoven and others– are Peace, Hope, Heaven, Nocturne and Raindrop (curious?).” We are so delighted about this exciting event, and hope that you can attend…more information to come.

The event will be held at the Adams Recital Hall in the Garvey Center on the campus of Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, Oklahoma.  The doors will open at 5:00pm.  The concert will begin at 5:45pm.  It will be followed by a Catered Reception with fancy deserts and light refreshments following in Garvey Conservatory from 7:45pm to 9:15pm, with opportunities to meet with Westview Boys Home and Rural America Ministries charities and Gordon and his wife Beata.
