Ranch Manager

Doug Gonzalez serves as the Ranch Manager at Westview Boys’ Home. He oversees the cattle herd, directs the show calf program (see Livestock Programs) on our ranch, and is the steward of our ranch land and the other ranching facilities on campus (see the Ranch page).

Doug grew up as a boy at Westview Boys’ Home, went on to serve in the United States Air Force, and, after his military service, worked as an aircraft mechanic. He and his wife, Dennise, returned to the Home in 1994 to serve as caregivers at Sweetwater House. Doug became a Certified Childcare Worker as a part of his work and training at Westview. After a number of remarkable years as caregivers, Doug took over the Ranch, and Dennise assumed responsibility for Donor Relations. Doug has been Westview’s Ranch Manager since 2000. While managing the ranch, Doug has earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Liberty University.

Doug is a passionate advocate for the Home, the boys, and the livestock programs on campus. He is also an experienced mentor of young men.

Doug was awarded the Ed Deaver Service Award in 1996 for his outstanding service to the boys that make their home at Westview. He and Dennise have two adult children.
